本書為金融學本科系列教材之一。 全書共十五個單元，基本涵蓋了金融業務的基礎知識，主要包括：貨幣與利率、匯率與外匯市場、金融市場概述、貨幣市場、資本市場、金融衍生品市場、金融機構、商業銀行、投資銀行、金融服務、信貸、國際結算、銀行業監管和保險業和會計學基礎知識等內容。
本書設計獨特，每個單元的編排遵循了循序漸進的課堂教學規律。每個單元通過案例導入、課文預習、課后閱讀理解、拓展閱讀等多樣練習的設計，使學生能夠較為扎實地掌握與本單元主題相關的金融知識和英語語言知識。
本書可供國際經濟與貿易、金融學、會計學、工商管理、商務英語和金融英語等專業的學生使用，也可作為金融英語證書考試的考前輔導教材。
前 言
隨著國際金融市場的飛速發展，需要大批既有扎實的金融知識，又有嫻熟的英語交流能力的國際金融人才。本書的編寫旨在幫助培養既懂得金融學的基本理論、專業知識及操作過程，又具有國際溝通能力的金融人才。
本書中的課文基本選自英語原版教材，部分課文經過編者的重新編排，內容基本涵蓋了金融業務的基礎知識。每個單元是圍繞某一特定的金融主題進行組織編排，課文練習的設計兼顧了口頭表達、閱讀理解、金融知識和金融信函寫作等技能的訓練。
每個單元主要包括以下幾個模塊。
(1) 案例導入：通過一個簡短的案例激活學生的背景知識，啟發學生進行獨立思考，從而引出單元的主題，同時訓練學生口頭表達的能力。
(2) 課文預習：通過略讀和查讀、詞匯預測等練習的設計訓練學生快速閱讀的能力。
(3) 課文和注釋：通過對課文難點的注釋幫助學生正確理解課文。
(4) 閱讀理解練習：通過設計課文閱讀理解、詞匯練習、完型填空、英漢單句翻譯漢英段落翻譯等練習，幫助學生全面鞏固該單元所涉及的金融知識和重點需掌握的語言知識。
(5) 金融知識自測題：通過設計10個與本單元主題相關的金融知識綜合訓練題，檢測學生對本單元所涉及的主題的金融知識的掌握情況，為學生今后參加金融英語證書考試作準備。
(6) 金融信函寫作：幫助學生掌握常見的金融信函寫作的要訣。
(7) 拓展閱讀： 該部分閱讀材料基本選自最新的報紙雜志和網站的文章或演講稿，設計該練習的目的是引導學生閱讀英語報紙雜志，培養學生的探索能力和自主學習的能力。
